TOTAL TILE TRAINING - Volume 4

BUILDING TILE BENCHES INDOOR + OUTDOOR CURVING PLANTERS

Build an outside bench to be tiled:
On this demonstration, the viewer is shown how to frame and build a large bench to be tiled. The wooden bench is covered with concrete backer board and tiled using a blue 2 x 2 inch mosaic tile for the field tile with the remainder covered in Saltillo.

Building small indoor and large outdoor fountains:
In this demonstration, the viewer is shown how to build a small indoor fountain or water feature. Bruce then demonstrates how to build a larger fountain that complements the benches shown earlier in the video. Both hand painted mexican tiles and saltillo are used in the design of the large fountain and both full mortar technique and thin set over backer board applications are demonstrated. The viewer is also shown a clear and concise example of how to build the pump.

Building a large curving outdoor planter the EZ-way on a budget:

This demonstration shows how to build a very large, level top planter on a small sloping location. This is a project for someone on a budget and in a hurry. The result is unbelievably attractive and easy to do. The planter is built using thin set mortar and the least expensive brick you can find, the brick is then covered with mortar and plaster and tiled over using hand painted mexican tiles and a decorative blue mosaic stripe.
